Parties – Elizabeth Hamond of
Rygate, Surrey, widow and relict of William Hamond, Esquire, deceased (1) and
William Hamond of St Albans Nonington, Kent, Esquire, son and heir of the said
William deceased (2).
Reciting that said Elizabeth Hamond was entitled to the parsonage and rectory of
Nonington and Wimingswold, Kent with the gleab lands thereunto belonging
containing by estimation 2 acres on part of which standeth a long parsonage
barne, together with a stable or fforthering place and all tythes, portions,
pensions and profitts whatsoever in Nonington and Wymingswold or elsewhere in
Kent, for the term of her life, remainder to the said William Hamond party
hereto for his life by virtue of a Lease from William, late Lord
Archbishop of Canterbury to the said William Hamond deceased, dated 7th June
1679 for his own life and the lives of the said Elizabeth and William Hamond
party hereto.
And reciting that said William Hamond party hereto was desirous to renew said
Lease and put in a new life instead of William Hamond deceased and had requested
said Elizabeth to join in surrendering the old Lease which she did
And reciting new Lease of 8 November, 9 William 3, granted to said Elizabeth for
lives of said Elizabeth and William and ffardinando Penkhurst of Bucksted,
Sussex, Esquire.
And reciting that, subject to Elizabeth’s life interest, the term remains to
said William Hamond, his heirs and assigns and to be disposed of at their free
will and pleasure.
Assignment of Lease for 20 shillings and other good consons by said Elizabeth to
said William Hamond to hold after her death.
