#FindsFriday: Decorated samian ware fragment
Today's #findsfriday comes from deep in the archives!
This lovely decorated Samian ware fragment was housed with a selection of finds from the Lower Medway Archaeology Group. The sherds are all labelled as 1st to 2nd century AD, but not all have site codes making their full identity and provenance as mystery.
This particular sherd is labelled MiL E¹, F.37 (publication figure?) C. AD 140-190.
Did you dig with LMARG and recognise the code? If so do email Andy.ward@kentarchaeology.org.uk with any information.
He'll be digging into the paper archives in due course to try and locate where this piece and the other pottery fragments originated!
