KAS at the Kent County Show

KAS at the Kent County Show

The Kent Archaeological Society is thrilled to announce its return to the Kent County Show for the first time since 2008. Visitors will see a display of archaeological objects from our collections, allowing them to get a glimpse of the historical artefacts we have the privilege of preserving. Additionally, rare examples from the Society Library will be available to view alongside various monographs available for purchase during the event.

Student Ambassador Alex Read will demonstrate bronze casting on both Friday and Saturday of the event. He will also have a selection of replica objects available for purchase. Additionally, the Society will host an archaeological sandpit for children to experience being an archaeologist for the day.

The Kent County Show invites you to celebrate farming, agriculture and food production in the ‘Garden of England’ as the county’s most spectacular countryside event returns on the 5th, 6th and 7th of July 2024.

Over three days, a diverse range of attractions including livestock, horses, vintage vehicles, and retail stands, will converge onto the Showground for a festival of the best of Kent. Explore and learn about fascinating aspects of rural life as you make your way around each of the Show’s educational and interactive sections.

Book your tickets online today to take advantage of the pre-show discount on general admission.

Organisers of the Kent County Show, the Kent County Agricultural Society are a registered charity aiming to improve agriculture, forestry, horticulture, allied industries and livestock breeding, and encourage education and research in those areas. The Society achieves these through the following events, the Kent County Show, Farm Expo, Living Land, Heritage Transport Show and Biddenden Tractorfest. The Kent Rural Scholarship Scheme sees three agricultural students a year awarded £1,000 for each year of their degree, and a number of charitable grants are made each year to local Kent Young Farmers Clubs.

All proceeds from the Kent County Show go towards achieving our charitable objectives.
