Cristine Swayn, Cecilie Frenne, and Cristine Frenne of Gore, 20d. each. Residue to wife Cecily and son John my Ex'ors. Son Thomas have a messuage and garden and nine parcels of land in the lordship (domino) of Estry of 20 acres, of which one parcel is called Hallis street, one acre within the Tye, seven yards in the Tye, 3 acres at Horsacre, 3 acres in Faundtye in the lordship of Adisham, 7 rods at Harside Cross in the same lordship, 5 yards at Halbergh in the same lordship, 1 rod at Hernden Cross, and to his heirs, etc. for ever, paying to Cecilie my wife yearly 5 quarters of barley at St Michael. Son Richard a messuage and garden called the Gore, otherwise Gyles, 6 acres called Lynnyne, 12 acres in the tenure of Eastry in the field called the Tye, 1 | acres in Lymynge field, and to his heirs, etc, paying yearly to Cecilie 5 quarters of barley. Son John a messuage and garden at Gore, 9 acres in the lordship of Adisham, 7 acres in a croft before the messuage, 3 rods in Rypplys Croft, 3 acres at Fyllinden, paying yearly to Cecilie 5 quarters of barley. Wife have for hfe half one garden called the bene garden, and one acre of land near the Mill, between the land of Peter Barfield east, land of John Fren west, and heading upon the high road south, the land of Wm Fren north, then to son William. Brother Roger and to his heirs for ever my tenement with lands ; and 1| acre west of the road leading to Goore as far as the wind-mill there to Sara his [?my] wife for life, then to the same Roger. Brother Wilham and to his heirs a void piece of land called Pumfreyes, allowing the aforesaid Roger and Sara to enjoy and possess all those lands and tenement above. Also Roger to pay Sara for her support 40/- and Sarah at her choice have one room within the tenement with free coming and going. Residue to Sara my wife. Ex'or—Roger Frenne. Wife have the room in the west part of my messuage for life, with free coming and going, also 5 quarters of best barley from my sons yearly. Son Robert my messuage with all thereto at Fillyndenne. Son Thomas a barn called Pytmantoyne with land on the south side, one acre 3 rods at the Stone Cross, half an acre at Cokysbarow. [Probate 9 Feb. 1484-5.] (Con. Vol. 2, fol. 616.) Residue after paying debts to wife Joan, sons John and Henry equaUy, my Ex'ors. Lands and tenements in Eastre and Sandwich, that wife have a third part for life then to sons John and Henry equally. Residue of lands to sons,—John having the messuage where I dwell with the lands, if he die without lawful issue to Henry. Witnesses—Peter Derby, John Wolwich, John Baker. Wife have the place where I dweU with all lands for one year after my death, then to my cousin John Frinne, junior, of Walton, and his heirs for ever, paying to my wife £12 by £2 yearly. Witnesses :—Sir Wilham Pem'ton, John Binder, Thomas Parker, senior, Thomas Rutland, Robert Thacher. [Probate 24 July 1497.] (Con. Vol. 4, fol. 163.) WILLIAM FREND. 20 Feb. 1494-5 (sic). Buried in the churchyard. High altar 12c?.; and to a cloth for the Processional Cross 2s. As much wood growing upon my tenement to be sold to the value of 6-8c?., to be laid in stone to repair the church-way betwixt Eastre and Goore. Residue after paying debts to wife Avice who with William Frend my Ex'ors. Feoffees of my lands, etc., at Goore:— Wm Frend, Roger Frend, John Whitfield senior. Wife occupy my tenement and lands until my children be 16, and if wife with child, a son, he when 16 have the tenement and land. Daughter Isabel at her marriage 405. [Probate 2 June 1494.] (Con. Vol. 4, fol. 15.) ROGER FRENNE. 29 January 1504-5. Buried in the churchyard before the door of Our Lady Chapel. High altar 20c?. ; and to the reparation of the church 3-4c?.- Son John 2 of the best horses, 2 kine, 12 ewes. Constance my daughter £3-6-8c?. out of such lands son John shall have at her marriage, also a cow and 10 ewes. All instuff equally to John and Constance. My house at Selveston and 3 acres of land to be sold, and money disposed for my soul by my Ex'ors—Thomas Iden of Sandwich, and John Ore of Eastry, each have 6-8c?., with Richard Lyman overseer. Lands and tenements at Walton and Goore. Son John and to his heirs for ever my house and lands, if he die without lawful issue to my daughter Constance if alive for her life, then sold and the money disposed for our souls. That Stephen Pratt have my house and lands at Walton and Goore for four years after my death, and keep my son John as a child ought to be kept and set him to school until he is 16. Joane Ore1 my mother in law shaU have for keeping my daughter Constance, 2 seames of wheat and 3 of malt. Witnesses:—Sir John Cesdale parish-priest, Richard Wikham, Clement Kirk. Wife have my tenements, houses, and lands for life, then to son Hugh and his lawful issue, but sons John and Thomas have £3-6-8c?. each, and son Robert 20s. Witnesses :— Sir Sapher Cottinden [rector of Hame], Thomas Parker, John Whitfield, Richard Whitfield, John Owre, Robert Frend. [No probate date.] (Con. Vol. IL, fol. 122.) ROBERT FRINNE, husbandman. 12 March 1535-6. Buried before the Chapel door in the churchyard. To the curate for tithes 16c?.; and towards buying a new canopy cloth for the church 13-4c?. For amending the highway where most need is between the church and the village (sic) of Goore 5s., and another 5s. to other highways.
