A Victorian Parson'

Mr Gerald van Loo has completed research into the family history of the Reverend Thomas Prankherd Phelps, who was Rector for fifty-three years of Ridley, a parish within Rochester Diocese. His book is to be published at the end of September and gives an account, not only of Phelps' family history but also of the inhabitants of Ridley and of the people with whom Phelps had dealings, against a background of the problems of the Church in the reign of Victoria.
