A 14th century Encaustic (2-colour) tile from the Randall Manor Dig, Kent, England. It was found in demolition deposits at the Manor, not in situ.
Thomas Becket Head Reliquary pilgrim badge, late Middle Ages
The bust reliquary badge seen here was one of the many different types sold to pilgrims to the shrine of St Thomas Becket.
St Thomas Becket ampulla, late Middle Ages
This ampulla (vessel) was probably sold to a pilgrim visiting the shrine of St Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral. It held water believed to contain the diluted blood that the saint shed at his martyrdom.
Chiddingstone Castle grounds, Edenbridge
Chiddingstone Castle was built by the Streatfeild family and served as their seat from the early 16th century until the beginning of the 20th century when the family left the castle.
