Uncovering life in Front Brents
The Faversham Creek Trust & Kent Archaeological Society will be undertaking, subject to approval by Swale Borough Council, a five-day community archaeological investigation of Front Brents, Faversham. The open land adjacent to The Albion Taverna, a 19thcentury pub was formerly the site of tenement buildings along both Front Brents and Church Road. The community investigation running over the course of Faversham Society’s Open Faversham Festival from Saturday 24th May – Sunday 1st June will seek to uncover the foundations of these properties and reveal evidence of the occupants who once called them home.

Results of a preliminary resistivity survey of land adjacent to the Albion Taverna in order to inform the upcoming project.

All are welcome to attend and get involved in uncovering life in 19th century Faversham!
Once the project has been confirmed details will be shared on the Kent Archaeological Society website, social media platforms, VeryConnect, and on the Open Faversham Website.
