Peter Meddemmen
My background is technology. I studied Electronic Engineering and graduated into a long career in London and briefly in New York as a technology professional in the Financial Services Industry. As a young child my enthusiasm for technology led me to build a metal detector. While it was a satisfying project to complete, the unexpected spin-off is a lifetime obsession with artifacts, history, which in turn, inevitably developed into archaeology.
I run a local metal detecting group, I am an active member of the National Council of Metal Detecting, and I am passionate about vocalising and marketing the ethical practices of the pastime, particularly in working and cooperating with academia and the archaeological community.
I am delighted to be welcomed into the Kent Archaeological Society. I believe that my experience in business management, fund raising, corporate access and event management will prove an asset to the group.
