Simon Elliott
Dr Simon Elliott FSA is an award winning and best-selling archaeologist, historian and broadcaster. He holds a PhD in Classics and Archaeology from the University of Kent, a Masters degree in Archaeology from UCL’s Institute of Archaeology, and a Masters Degree in War Studies from KCL. He has published 19 books to date on Roman and ancient world themes, including Roman Britain’s Missing Legion which was a BBC History Top 10 Book of the Year in 2021. He appears frequently on broadcast media as a presenter and expert, and is also an expert Guide Lecturer for Andante Travels and Hidden History Tours across classical sites in the Mediterranean (including North Africa), and in the UK. Simon is also an active archaeologist, having co-Directed the Roman villa excavation at Teston, and participating in new research with Kent Archaeological Society on the Roman fort sites at Lympne. He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries.
