1. Thomas STAPLES died 29 January 1797 aged 66 years. Elizabeth wife of Thomas Staples died 25 November 1794 aged 63 years. Also three sons, Thomas died 3 September 1767 age 3 years. Richard 10 February 1794 age 19 years. John 17 October 1796 aged 28 years. Also Sarah wife of John BARO(?)TON late of Tonbridge daughter of above died 27 June 1818 aged 46 years.

2. Thomas MARTIN of this Parish died 17 August 1785 aged 59 years.

3. William Brown of this parish died 22 January 1815 aged 38 years.

4. Small cross: Elizabeth DIPROSE died 3 December 1861 aged 74 years.

5. Coped cross: Caroline GREGORY relict of N. Gregory Captain R.N. died 15 August 1861 aged 87 years.

6. Tomb with coped top with shield, a lion passant holding in his right paw a cross staff. On a chief nebulee a cross (pattee). Inscription: Here is deposited Captain James Iverson BAILEY of Chesterfield House, Tonbridge (sic) Wells in this County who died 21 March 1869 aged 85 years. Also Anne his wife who died 12 May 1866 aged 63 years R.I.P. In peace in Christ here is deposited Lavinia, wife of the Rev. James Sandford BAILEY M.A. of Ightham Place and daughter of Demetrius GREVISJAMES Esq. J.P. of Ightham Court. She died 10 February 1875. below are six shields. 1. As on coped top. 2. As on coped top with shield of pretence. Quarterly per fess invected counterchanged ermine and . 3. As shield of pretence. 4 Quarterly 1 & 4 as shield on coped top. 2 & 3 as shield of pretence. 5.

7. Selenar Wooldridge RICHARDS born 4 August 1831, died 4 Januay 1877. Erected by her mother. Also William Cornelius Richards son of above born 1 January 1877 died 2 January 1877. Also Elizabeth ASHBY died 17 July 1855. Also John Ashby died 6 October 1859.

14. Harriett wife of Charles HENDERSON died 14 May 1862 aged 61 years. Charles Fallows Henderson died 8 October 1889 in 80th year. Caroline Grice OUTRIDGE daughter of above died 27 August 1874 aged 41 years.

15. Mr John REED cloth drawer of St Clements Dean [Dane], London. He died 24 August 1733 aged 45 years. Mrs Anne, wife of Mr John Reed cloth drawer of St Clements Deanes, London, daughter of Thomas and Ann TOMOSON of this Parish died 21 (or7) April 1728 in her 38th year. (Parish Register: buried 24 April F&Z.B)

16. Ann wife of Thomas CHAPMAN died 29 May 1867 age 79 years. Also Thomas Chapman died 2 August 1883 age 92 years. He served in the 7th Regiment of Royal Fusiliers under the Great Duke of Wellington at Albuera, when he was wounded, and at Salamanca, Vittoria, and the Pyrrenes also in America.

17. John BERRY died ?15 April 1798 aged 56 years. (Parish Register: John son of John and Mary Berry buried 20 April aged 16 years. F&Z.B)

18. William CARTER of this Parish died the 1 January 1755 in his 55th year. Also his son William Carter (included below) who died 5 November 1813 in his 75th year. He left issue one son and one daughter William and Mary.

19. Her lieth the body of Richard SISLY who died 25 March 1697 aged 61 years. Elizabeth, his wife died 15 December 1716 aged 62 years.

20. Low altar Mrs Mary CRESER late of this Parish died 17 February 1802 aged 80 years.

22. Tomb in rails. The Rev. George BYTHESEA M.A. late Rector of this Parish died 11(?)December 1800 aged 35 years. (Burial Register: buried 22 December F&Z B) Also Mrs Katherine Bythesea daughter of the Rev. Thomas COBB Rector of Upper Hardes and Stelling relict of William Bythesea Esq. and mother of the above named. Rev. George Bythesea who died 1 December 1807 aged 70 years. Also George Kemp Bythesea the only child of the Rev. George and Ann his wife died 6 June 1809 aged 9 years. Cecilia daughter of Katherine and wife of Lieutenant Charles BROME, Royal Navy died 30 November 1826 and who while living was a great blessing to all around her. Also the above Charles Brome Esq. Lieutenant Royal Navy died 6 April 1830 in his 80th year.

23. Mary Ann third daughter of James and Elizabeth ATKINSON of this Parish died 20 Februay 1794 aged 3 years.

24. John COGGER of this Parish 3 April 1766 aged 46 years. Also William Cogger of the Parish of Seale died 12 May 1767 age 38 years.

25. Reuben BALDWIN died 6 April 1763 in his 6th year.

26. Large Altar Tomb. Top: Here lies the body of Maxfield HODSOLL late of Plaxtol, a good husband, master etc., died 3 November 1735 in his 49th year. Left issue 3 sons, Maxfield, Edmund and viz Urbane. Mr Maxfield Hodsoll Junior died 5 November 1754 in his 36 year. Mrs Isabella Hodsoll, wife of Mr Maxfield Hodsoll died 19 February 1755 aged 62 years. South side: Edmund second son of Maxfield a tender youth and dutyfull son. He lamented the death of his father and dyed soon after him on 7 January 1735 in his 15th year and was buried in the same grave with his father. North side: Also the body of Urbane Hodsoll who died 8 September 1745 aged 22 years. (four lines of verse) West side: To whose happy memories the right sorrow fall. idow and mother erected this tomb. East side: Consider all you standers by as you are now so was my dear child and I etc. Above are Arms wavy fess between three wells (the Hodsoll coat of Arms)

27. Stephen BALDWIN, son of Stephen and Elizabeth, his wife (sic) died 10 June 1775 in his 7th years.

28. Here lieth the body of Maxfield? HODSOLL of Wrotham senior who died September in the year of our Lord 1712 at the age of 66 years. Here lieth the wife of Maxfield Hodsoll (no name) who died 11 May 1728 aged 87 years.

Robert died 25 October 1783 aged 73 years. Francis died 12 November 1788 aged 69 years. Also Nancy wife of above William Batt died 12 March 1794 aged 41 years.

36. Edward BATT late of this Parish died 20 October 1750 aged 67 years. Francis wife of Edward Batt died 26 April 1732 aged 40 years. She left issue 4 sons and 2 daughters. Edward, Robert, Mary, Elizabeth, Francis and John.

37. Elizabeth BATT second wife of Mr Robert Batt of this Parish died 24 November 1773 aged 44 years.

40. William COUCHMAN of this Parish died 21 September 1781 aged 66 years. Elizabeth Couchman his wife died 22 March 1799 aged 84 years. John, son of William and Elizabeth Couchman died 1762 aged 21 years.

41. Large Altar Tomb. Top: Thomas TAYLOR of Berengrove in the Parish of Rainham in this County and Mary Taylor of the Warren. He died 7 August 1839 in his 68th year. Leaving issue one daughter Elizabeth who married William WALTER of Gore in the Parish of Upchurch. Also Betsy wife of the above Thomas Taylor died 8 April 1864 aged 79 years. Also George PRENTIS of Maidstone died 1 February 1883 aged 83 years.
North side: Eleanor Taylor wife of Mr William Taylor of this Parish died 12 September 1832 aged 57 years. Also Mr William Taylor of the Warren died 28 September 1842 aged 75 years.
South side: Mary wife of John Taylor of this Parish died 14 February 1807 aged 70 years. Also above John Taylor died 29 July 1813 aged 75 years.
East end; Mary Anne wife of George PRENTIS of Maidstone and daughter of William and Eleanor Taylor of the Warren died 14 April 1832 aged 24 years.
West end: Elizabeth Taylor daughter of William and Eleanor Taylor of Crowhurst in the Parish of Wrotham died 8 November 1811 in her 8th year.

46. Thomas EDWARDS of this Parish died 27 April 1815 aged 76 years. Mary his wife died 13 February 1835 aged 87 years. Left issue surviving 2 daughters Lelitia and Elizabeth.

88. Elizabeth, second wife of William TAYLOR late of this Parish died 25 September 1747 aged 69 years. She left issue one son and one daughter viz, Thomas and Mary. The text of a sermon preached at her funeral was Job chapter 3 verse 17. There the wicked cease from troubling and there the weary are at Rest.

89. William TAYLOR of this Parish died 9 July 1746 aged 73 years. Jane his wife, and daughter of John W _ _ _ _ _ of Wrotham died 3 August 1718 aged 3 _ (?3 or5) years.

107. John TAYLOR died 30 December 1742 aged 58 years. Hannah his wife died 22 April 1754 aged 69 years. Left issue 5 sons and 4 daughters viz William, John, Jane, Clement, Thomas, Hannah, Ann, Sarah and Elizabeth.

108. Ann wife of James RANDALL died 2 June 1737 aged 29 years. She had issue 2 sons and 1 daughter, James, Elizabeth and Thomas.

109. Thomas, son of William and Elizabeth MORRIS of this Parish died 12 March 1795 aged 25 years.

111. Large Altar Tomb In a vault beneath? are buried the remains of Clement TAYLOR late of Boxley died 26 June 1776 age 58 years. Also Sarah his wife died 6 February 1796 aged 75 years. Left surviving issue 5 sons and 4 daughters viz Clement, John, Thomas, George, Liberty, Elizabeth, Eleanor and Charlotte. East end: In memory of 2 sons and 2 daughters of Clement and Sarah Taylor William died 1745, Hannah died 1757, Ann died 1765, James died August ?1787.
West end: Jane wife of George Taylor died 20 February 1791 age 24 years.

112. Elizabeth SUMMERS daughter of Richard and Mary Summers of this Parish died 29 June 1811 aged 21 years. Ann daughter of Richard and Mary Summers died 25 July 1812 aged 14 years.

113. Richard SUMMERS of this Parish died 28 November 1819 aged 65 years. Mary his wife died 18 July 1853 aged 89 years. Left issue 4 sons, Richard, George, William and John.

114. Richard SUMMERS of this Parish died 26 February 1858 aged 66 years. Left issue 1 son and 1 daughter, Richard and Elizabeth.

115. John RISTS of this Parish died 8 August 1804 aged 82 years. Also near, two daughters of the said John Rifte who died before him.

116. John BELLCHAMBERS died 17 November 1838 aged 60 years. Sarah his wife 19 January 1860 aged 82 years.

North side: Mr George Batt of this Parish died 29 May 1819 aged 82 years. Stephen son of Stephen and Ann JOHNSON of this Parish Sundridge Kent died 25 May 1820 aged 4 weeks. East end: Stephen Johnson late of Tunbridge died 23 November 1850 aged 66 years. South side: Ann wife of Stephen Johnson of the Parish of Sundridge died 30 April 1823 aged 28 years. William Thomas Batt son of
William Robert Batt and Sarah Batt his wife, died 4 October 1822 aged 2 years and 7 months.West end: blank

119. Mr Peter CROSBY of the Parish of Wrotham died 16 July 1831 aged 71 years. Mrs Elizabeth Crosby his wife died 18 January 1831 aged 70 years. Left issue 3 sons, William, Peter James and Thomas (sic).

123. Charlotte MORGAN of Oldbury in this Parish died 24 September 1861 age 61 years. Also William Morgan of Oldbury in this Parish 1 July 1881 age 80 years.

124. Emma JOLLY of Oldbury of this Parish born 23 October 1835, died 1 November 1911.

125. George MORGAN late of Oldbury Hill of this Parish died 25 June 1864 aged 72 years. Elizabeth his wife died 6 February 1851 aged 58 years, buried in Kensal Green Cemetery.

126. Robert GIBBONS of this Parish died 14 December 1844 aged 49 years. Louisa his wife died 15 November 1851 aged 59 years. Louisa Gibbons eldest daughter of above died 25 June 1864 aged 45 years. Richard son of above died 5 April 1833 aged 13 months.

127. James TEMPLER died 5 June 1858 aged 65 years. Elizabeth his wife died 18 January 1865 aged 80 years.

128. Jane wife of John FRIMCHAM of this Parish died 17 February 1801 aged 62 years. Left issue 2 sons and 4 daughters.

129. Elizabeth daughter of Richard and Barbara WATERS of this Parish and wife of Samuel EAGLESTONE died 13 April 1810 aged 22 years. Left issue James Eaglestone.

130. Elizabeth wife of Charles AUSTEN died 23 August 1807 aged 35 years. Charles Rogers Austen died 10 April 1860 aged 90 years. Also Elizabeth their daughter died 1 July 1801 aged 5 years. Left issue 2 sons and 1 daughter, Ann, William and Charles. Also Jane their daughter died 4 January 1815 aged 17 months.

131. Mr Thomas ROBERTS died 16 December 1835 aged 58 years.

132. James TAYLOR of this Parish died 21 June 1832 aged 60 years. Mary Taylor his wife died 7 April 1858 aged 84 years. William Taylor son of above died 15 November 1833 aged 29 years. Mary Ann Taylor daughter of above died 2 December 1835 aged 36.

133. Opposite Church Tower: Mr James TAYLOR of this Parish died 26 July 1845 aged 49 years. Elizabeth his wife died 1 September 1870 aged 78 years.

134. Constantine SELBY 4th son of William Coleman and Arabella Selby died 2 May 1874 aged 32 years. Arabella Selby mother of above died 11 August 1876 aged 74 years.

The remaining stones are in the newer part – mostly 1890 onwards, a few earlier stones: seemed to have been moved c 1868.

135. John Thomas ISMAY of this Parish died 15 October 1869 aged 25 years. Mary wife of George Ismay died 9 March 1879 aged 76 years. Above George Ismay died 19 December 1889 aged 85 years.

136. John SUMMERS died 2 May 1878 aged 76 years. Anne his wife died 6 July 1869 aged 65 years.

137.John son of John and Anne SUMMERS died 2 July 1870 aged 43 years.

138. George SUMMERS late of Wickhurst Farm Leigh, Kent 2nd son of Richard and Mary Summers of this Parish died 19 November 1869 aged 75 years. Left issue 3 daughters and 1 son, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Sarah and George. Sarah daughter of above and wife of Joseph STEEL of Denbigh St Pimlico, London died 20 November 1871 aged 42 years.

139. Thomas MORRIS died 23 December 1868 aged 84 years.

140. In the Porch are several memoranda on the history of the Church, amongst them copy of a letter from Sir John SEDLEY of St Clere to Sir Edward DERING in the Surrenden Collection. 24th March 1639 speaks of "John BULBANKE hath as he tells me almost done his church works in Iteham (sic) and took advantage of this holy day to wayte upon you to learne your pleasure though I am afraid he hath worked so longe in Iteham Church that he hath almost gotten himself a place in the churchyarde being I doubt fallen into a deep consumption." (? the North Aisle)
