Shorne Woods Archaeology Group update
Isle of Thanet Archaeological Society Closure
Welcome to the first of our Kent group spotlights!
Our archivist and newsletter/magazine editor Craig has been in touch with numerous archaeological and historic groups across the County stating that the society is pleased to promote their events, workshops, and wider work.
As such, we will be running a series of spotlights every couple of weeks on our social media channels promoting groups across our county. If you haven't been in touch with Craig or would like to learn more about becoming an affiliated group of the society please contact craig.campbell@kentarchaeology.org.uk
The first in our series is the Oaten Hill & South Canterbury Association!
OHSCA (formerly the Oaten Hill & District society systematically scrutinise planning applications in their area and review and comment on environmental issues such as air quality and the provision of open space. It's members are kept informed about these developments through weekly emails on planning applications, and quarterly Newsletters. OHSCA support special interest groups on local history and gardening and it's Green Team organises tree planting, litter picking and other activities which enhance the appearance and environmental integrity of the area. The group organise a wide range of social events and activities which aim to bring the community closer together.
You can learn more about OHSCA's local history group on their website - https://www.ohsca.org/history.html.
