Shorne Woods Archaeology Group update
Another update from the Shorne Woods Archaeology Group based at Shorne Woods Country Park. This time recording their new #medieval building!

SWAG meets every Thursday and Friday* at Shorne Woods Country Park Brewers Road, Shorne, DA12 3HX at 10am
Everybody welcome including children but under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
All tools provided.
* Please email swagkent2023@gmail.com first so we know you are coming and to make sure we are on site as occasionally we may be excavating off site.
SWAG will be running two events as part of this years Council for British Archaeology's Festival of Archaeology.:
1st.
Location: Shorne Woods Country Park
Date: Thursday - Sunday 17th - 20th July 10.30 - 15.30 each day.
Target: Second World War Army training camp.
2nd.
Location: Trosley Country Park (DA13 0SG)
Date: Saturday 26th July 10.30 - 15.30.
Target: Unknown 20th centaury structure and possible pre-historic flint scatter.
3rd.
Location: Chestnut Rooms, Shorne Woods Country Park.
Date: Friday 30th May 10.30 - 15.30

Two hour guided walk from the café to see the remains of the clay pit, R.A.F. camp and Randall Manor. Please note under 16's must be accompanied by any adult.
All being well SWAG will also be launching their Shorne Woods Country Park Archaeology booklet.
The event is free but parking charges apply.
Both events are free, however there is a parking charge at both venues.
