#FindsFriday Roman Brooch
For #FindsFriday I thought I would give a sneak peak of what happens after objects are excavated by the society!

Lower Medway Archaeology Group (LMAG) flint finds
It's #FindsFriday or should I say #FlintFriday! At the beginning of this week longstanding Maidstone Museums volunteer Angela joined me at our offices in Marsham Street to look over a box of Lower Medway Archaeology Group (LMAG) finds labelled hand axes.

#FindsFriday mystery object
We have a bit of a #mysteryobject for #FindsFriday this week. Found by our new curatorial volunteer amongst Arthur Harrison's collection is this small copper-alloy coin(?) which appears to have a hole pierced through the centre.

Unguentarium (perfume bottle) from Trosley Roman villa
Followers of our project at Trosley Court may remember that last week we lifted a partially intact Unguentarium or perfume bottle! It was quite exciting to help lift this from the soil for the first time in nearly 2000 years.

Bronze Age Incense Bowl
It's #FindsFriday so I thought I would post a recent image I took of the #BronzeAge incense cup from the Lord of the Manor excavation undertaken by Trust For Thanet Archaeology and Isle of Thanet Archaeological Society. This small cup dating between c. 1650 and 1400 BCE is decorated with twisted cord patterns.

Animal bone from Lees Court Estate
It's been an interesting day identifying animal bones on the Otford Roman Villa site. This very large bone is the right humerus of a bovine, probably a cow.
