Some Monumental Inscriptions of St Mary Bexley Churchyard noted by Leland L. Duncan. Typed up be Dawn Weeks, including Leland Duncan's sketch plan of location of gravestones in St Mary Bexley Churchyard.

A plot
1. Mr James CRAFTER many years Beadle of this Parish died 26 March 1826 aged 59. Also Ann wife of above 25 August 1840 aged 72. John Crafter son of above April 19 1851 aged 56.

2. Thomas SCVDDER dyed November the 25 1694.

3. John BENTLEY late of this Parish died 20 May 1770 aged 7(-?).

4. Table tomb of brick Drawing Demi eagle displayed. On a bend between 2 eagles displayed ?3 cross crosslits. Here lyeth the Body of Edward (P)-AYNE with Elizabeth his wife who departed together this Life ye 20 November 1603. Here also lyes William son of -dward Payne who was entr’d ye 22 December 162(?7) as also Jane his wife who was enter’d ye 13th January 1666. Here lyes Ephraim son of ye said William Payne who was enter’d ye 18th February 1677 with severall others of that family.

5. Here lyeth ye Body of Mary SEARL senior died 16 December 1728 aged 73.

6. Mark SEARLE, dyed May ye 17 1708 aged 56.

7. Hester EWERS wife of Robert Ewers late of this Parish 12 April 1797 aged 78. Also Robert Ewers son of above Hester Ewers October 17 1805 aged 55.

8. Mr Robert EWERS late of this Parish farrier 11 November 1783 aged 66. A good husband and father a respected Tradesman and Neighbour. Mary COOPER his daughter died 8 March 1783 aged 26.

9. Mr John EWERS late of this Parish son of Robert and Hester Ewers 21 November 1820 aged 76.

10. Mrs Esther PLOWMAN eldest daughter of Robert EWERS of this Parish March 27 1824 aged 76.

11. Mr John COOPER 18 April 1828 aged 47 nephew of the late Mr John Ewers.

12. Mary daughter of John and Mary COOPER of this Parish 21 September 1832 aged 24. Also Elizabeth wife of Mr Christopher Thomas ATHOW-? of London and Sister of above died 9 October 1831 (or 4) aged 21 (or 4).

13. Catharine wife of Mr John CROCKFORD of this Parish 28 February 1832 in 61st year. Above Mr John Crockford December 30 1850 aged 87. Charles Crockford son of above January 29 1852 in 48th year.

14. 4 small head and footstones. No inscription apparent.

15. Mrs Mary MASON 20 May 1831 aged 81. She by her Will left property in trust for the comfort of the deserving poor of this Parish for Ever. The particulars are inscribed upon a Tablet in the Church.

16. Mr William SKEET late of this Parish 31 December 1800 in 67th year.

17. Mary EWERS wife of Jeremiah Ewers of this Parish July 15 1810 aged 66. Jeremiah Ewers husband of above and son to Robert and Hester Ewers December 6 1812 aged 61.

18. Mr William TOMLIN of this Parish 2nd March 1826 aged 57. Also Mrs Sarah Tomlin Relict of above 16 February 1849 aged 71.

19. Here Lieth the Body of John ENDS who died October the 11th 1721 aged 34 years. Also 2 Children of John Ends John and Mary.

20. Cordelia daughter of William and Ann BRAY died 6 October 1821 aged 13. Also William brother of above who met with an accident May 20th and died June 1 1822 aged 17.

21. Mr John CLOUT late of Woolwich Fruiterer son of William and Sarah Clout of this Parish 19 August 1826 aged 34. A tender Husband.

22. Mrs Mercy CLOUT widow of Mr William Clout 22 February 1834 aged 76.

23. Mrs Sarah CLOUT late wife of Mr William Clout of this Parish died February 4 1797 aged 35. Also Mary Clout daughter of above 29 October 1793 aged 3 years. Left surviving 4 sons viz William, John, Thomas and Richard. Also Mary Clout second wife of William Clout 17 November 1806 aged 60.

24. Mr William CLOUT of this Parish 23 August 1817 aged 65.

25. Mrs Ann WILLIAMSON May 1 1853 aged 51. William Green Williamson son of above 28 April 1850 aged 21.

128. Tomb in rails Lieut General Sir David Latimer Tinling WIDDRINGTON, Military Knight Comr of the Hanoverian Guelphic Order who departed this life 30 July 1839 in 82nd year. He served his country with honour and great credit during a period of 60 years beginning at the memorable siege of Gibraltar afterwards in every part of the world and received from his country an annuity "for distinguished services". He was also a member of the consolidated Board and General Officers. He expired in this Parish at the temporary residence of his son Rev Sidney Henry Widdrington AM of Hauxly Hall Northumberland. His surviving children raise this monument in truly grateful recollection of one of the very best of Fathers as a small token of their devoted affection to him and regard to his memory and they rest in hope that from a state militant here in Earth he has now entered the church triumphant in heaven.
